Big steps taken, big help required.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Through the strong effort of Navistar employees and Life for the World leadership, we have made some great progress on our drive to fill a sea container with much needed supplies. Once the container is full, these supplies will be delivered directly to the Maranatha Orphanage and School in Haiti.

We've accomplished some significant milestones to date. We have shopped for an purchased a 40 foot sea container (pictured). We've filled it with various donations from Navistar employees (pictured). Life for the World has purchased a rolling chassis for storage and usage of the container while both in the USA and Haiti.

Due to unexpected expenses along the way (primarily the chassis requirement), we've run into some trouble. The container still has some room left in it and we need to fill it.

This time, we're going to pursue a bulk buy of rice and beans organized on a mass scale. This will take a significant amount of cash. Additionally, we need to fund the shipping from Florida to Haiti by sea (estimated at $3700). Finally, we will be required to pay the customs tax once the container arrives in Haiti.

We need your help more than ever. Our reserve funding is depleted. Please help spread the word to anyone that may be able to help us in our current situation.

Let's give them a reason to hope,

Derrick Quandt
